People ask me all the time how I ended up doing hair, and honestly… it wasn’t always the plan. In 2020, during the pandemic, I was ready for a change. I remember thinking, Why not hair school? I had never even used a curling iron before, but I figured, how hard could it be? Turns out… a lot harder than I expected. 😂 Hair school definitely humbled me, but it also showed me that I had found something I genuinely loved. Toward the end of school, I met one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever known (and yes, a fellow Virgo). She managed a salon, so I applied. During my interview, she and the owner asked if I accepted their rose. 🌹 (Bachelor fans will understand.) I laughed, said yes, and took it as a sign that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Over the next few years, I learned from incredible mentors, talented stylists, and instructors who challenged me, encouraged me, and believed in me. They helped shape not only the stylist I am today, but the person I am, too. When it came time to start this new chapter, I realized I was still carrying that rose with me. The name The Mason Method actually came from an everday conversation. Someone joked that I always had “my method” for everything, and we laughed about calling it The Mason Method. The name stuck… and so did the meaning behind it. Because this has never been just about hair. It’s about my husband, who’s been my biggest supporter every step of the way. It’s about the amazing women at Trios Salon and SoHo Hair Academy who took a chance on me and became my mentors and friends. And it’s about you. Thank you for trusting me with not only your hair, but your stories, your laughter, and sometimes even your tears. My hope is that every time you walk through my door, you feel cared for, leave feeling confident, and know this is more than just another salon appointment. Because it’s more than hair. It’s the method.
